So many men approach me, wondering what it is they do to upset and alienate their wives. While it is impossible to determine how ‘reformable’ these men are, the good news is that they are seeking.

My short answer to this question: if your husband drives you crazy, and honestly, lovingly wants to know how he can be a better husband, calmly point out to him exactly what troubles you. See how you can work together to resolve matters. Enlist the services of a therapist if this seems advisable.

If, however, he is a man who resents, rages at, ridicules, shames, bashes, devalues, overrules, trivializes, contradicts, undermines, sabotages, blames and is overally contemptuous of you, chances are he is a narcissist. Meaning: invest your energy in yourself. You are wasting your precious life-energy trying to teach him anything.
