Women who suffer extended emotional and/or mental agonies are likely bereft of self-compassion. In this enlightening show, Dr. Chris Germer instructs us in the ancient art of mindfulness, helping us “find ourselves in the midst of [our] suffering” so we can react with loving-kindness, rather than struggle against ourselves, amplifying our pain. Soothing Our Emotional And Mental Agonies: The Mindful Path To Self-Compassion.

Her Stricken Face

For one indelible moment, her face displays her pain. He hopes we won’t notice, but if we do, he hopes we attribute it to something else. He can hope all he wants. He can continue to promulgate falsehoods. We know the truth –  she is Dr. Joan Lachkar’s High Functioning Woman who behind closed doors suffers Spousal Emotional Abuse.

Her stricken face is evidence.

Whether we know such a woman or not, she is our suffering sister, a woman experiencing emotional and mental agonies. Please, dear listeners, join me in support of her. Pray for her. She needs us, all of us. Do not let her status as a High-Functioning Woman fool you into thinking she does not. In her isolation, in witnessing to her sufferings, we are her life-line.
